Chennai: Trichy model Aarav has won the first season of the reality show Bigg Boss Tamil on Saturday.
Aarav received the trophy and a cheque of Rs 50 lakh from Kamal Haasan, anchor of Bigg Boss Tamil. After announcing his political debut loud and clear at the grand finale, Haasan declared Aarav as the winner of the show.
“I’m definitely coming there (pointing to audiences). Don’t think I’m exploiting this stage. I’m speaking now from the bottom of my heart. These are my real words. If you think I should continue acting in movies, say it. If you think it’s time for me to be a part of the change and serve society, say it loudly. Now, my wish is to die in the service of my nation, and I’m totally prepared for it,” said Haasan.
Aarav thanked his parents and teachers. He also credited his fans that voted for him throughout the show.
The grand finale was between Ganesh venkatraman, Aarav, Harish Kalyan and Snehan. While Ganesh got the third runner-up position, Harish and Snehan earned the first and second runner-up spots respectively.
Ganesh, who managed to survive in the house for 100 days, said that Bigg Boss has been a great learning experience for him. On the other hand, Harish said, “People who had stayed 100 days in the house truly deserve the title. They’ve worked harder than me.”
Bigg Boss Tamil premiered on June 25 on Star Vijay and became the most popular TV show on Tamil channels.
