BENGALURU: Some nine months back, Dell India has laid off around 70 of its employees in Dell software group (DSG). This group has nearly 110 people in India spread across Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The company was planning to have 400-500 people strong unit in Bengaluru. But following drastic scale back Dell’s $67 billion acquisition of EMC, Dell’s business priorities changed and that stands as a reason for lay-off again.
The company said that they have offered a three month severance package to the affected employees. Employees are informed about the layoffs due to a “strategic decision” and didn’t give further explanation. Where the Hyderabad centre is unaffected by the decisions.
