This disease is not something new or unheard. It has been around for a long time. It is present in soil, rotten wood and leaves. It flies in the air and strikes the body through cuts, wounds and nostrils. Only the name is black fungus, however its color is white. It hits a spot on the body area, causing it to rot and turn black in that area. That is why it is called the black fungus.
Are people with black fungus already infected with corona? So are people at risk for corona have high risk of developing this disease?
Currently, many of those affected by corona have lost their immunity. This black fungus attacks only those with weakened immune systems. Seen in that light, the victims of black fungus in Tamil Nadu are the ones affected by corona. At the first sign of nasal congestion, sore throat a biopsy should be done to make sure that the black fungus is not affected. Once it is confirmed, it can be corrected by injection and medication. Even more so if the black fungus has infected one area, that area can be surgically removed.
